Oh... I'm so glad I found you! First, I love the photograph! second, I'm an amaeture artist, and I have no intention of selling the drawing (unless someone was asking to buy it!)
I am very new to drawing and haven't had any professional training in the art. so I would practice with whatever reference photos I thought would help me learn about shadows or what have you... The drawing of this photo was what really led me into getting more serious about art. Once I decided to post my drawings publicly, I tried to research the general "rules and etiquette" that went along with that.
There doesn't seem to be a black or white answer when it comes to when I should ask for permission and how I should say thank you..
So, basically I've decided that if I am going to post the drawing publicly, and I've used a reference photo, I will just ask the photographer what to do.
I can give you credit or I can take the drawing down.. whatever your comfortable with is fine with me... like I said, I'm pretty far from professional!
